Berlin Airports and Airport Transfers

If you are traveling to Berlin by air, chances are that your destination airport will be either the city’s Tegel International Airport (which is abbreviated TXL) or Schonefeld International Airport (which is abbreviated SXL).

But, if you will be traveling to Berlin after 2012, your destination will be the Berlin Brandenburg International Airport, which is being constructed from the current Schonefeld International Airport in an attempt to consolidate air traffic.

For more information on Tegal And Schonefeld International Airport click on the above links.

Once in Berlin

For airport transfers, both of Berlin’s main airports are connected to the city’s integrated public transport system. Schonefeld International Airport is accessible by the city’s S-Bahn line S9 and S45 with regular trains into and out of the airport every quarter hour or so.

While Tegel International airport is not directly served by the city’s railway lines, it is conveniently linked to the nearby railway station by buses, notably the JetExpress TXL bus service, which connects Tegel International Airport to the quite nearby Beusselstrasse train station and the city’s main train station – the Hauptbahnhof.

Airport transfers in Berlin are not limited to public means though. There are some firms that are fully committed to airport transfers, while many hotels in the city make arrangements to locate and pick up their guests at the airport. Many tour firms that organize tours to Berlin also organize airport transfers.

Berlin City Tours (http://www.berlincitytours.com) offers airport transfers to and from either Tegel International Airport, Tempelhof and Sconefeld International Airports, with a limousine service arrangement where your chauffeur meets you at the airport, makes contact with you through a name board, and takes you to your destination (hotel or otherwise).

For more information on this service, contact Berlin city tours on phone number +49 151 540 88 570 or email them on info@ berlincitytours.com or simply visit the website http://www.berlincitytours.com (which incorporates live chat) for more information on Berlin City Tour’s airport transfers.
